Central Florida Concierge Association to Host Statewide Conference in Orlando

150 Florida Concierge to Visit Area in September
Orlando, Fla. - (August 8, 2011) -- The over 120 members of the Central Florida Concierge Association are enthusiastically preparing for the 15th Annual Florida Concierge Conference September 6 - 9, 2011 in Orlando, FL to be held at the newly renovated and expanded Peabody Orlando.

"We want to give the concierge the ultimate Orlando experience so that they can confidently recommend restaurants, parks, shopping, and spas in the Orlando area to their guests," said Hameed Jasat, President of the Central Florida Concierge Association (CFCA). "We're expecting more than 150 concierge and corporate partners from across the state."

"The CFCA wants to provide first class service to highlight what Orlando has to offer our guests throughout Florida," Hameed said. Together, with other Florida concierge and guest service organizations, the CFCA is using the conference to educate, entertain, and hopefully impress front of the house employees, he said.

"The Florida Concierge Conference is such a positive and interactive way to bring tourism to our area," Carolyn Moncada, Vice President of the association, said. "The annual conference is hosted throughout the state as a way to keep our concierge professionals fully educated on the latest entertainment, nightlife and restaurants that the host city has to offer."

The conference, held at The Peabody Orlando, will include visits to theme parks and restaurants, as well as previews of new venues. A tradeshow where guest service personnel can speak directly with vendors, is also planned. In past years attendees have enjoyed walking tours, cruises, and visits to local attractions.

Highlights of the conference’s educational sessions include guest speakers Dave Mitchell and Jackie Walker. Dave Mitchell is a nationally acclaimed leader, businessman, author and speaker with a background in the hospitality and human resources arenas. Dave will present “The Heart and Art of Service” and “Live and Learn or Die Stupid”, from his book of the same title.

Jackie Walker’s presentation on “Branding Yourself (Inside and Out) in Today’s Economy”, will be thought provoking and interactive. Jackie Walker is a keynote speaker, motivational trainer, and acclaimed author of, “I Don’t Have a Thing to Wear, The Psychology of Your Closet”.

Additional educational sessions with topics including Safety in the Workplace, Marketing Your Community and Your Product - A Dialogue with Associate Members, Guest Service Gold presented by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and a panel of tourism experts will serve to round out the core of our educations offerings.

"Look for Orlando area businesses to pull out all of the stops," Carol Evans, Owner of Kids Nite Out and Associate Board Member of the CFCA, said. "Our retailers, resorts, and restaurants will provide a wonderful red carpet experience our visiting concierge."
