Mayor Appoints New Management Team at Center

(Orange County, FL) – Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs has appointed new managers to key positions that will continue the successful trends at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC). Kathleen Canning, Jan Addison, Yulita Osuba, Kris Shoemaker, David Ingram and Terry Devitt have all been appointed in new positions at the OCCC.
 
Effective July 1, Ms. Kathleen "Kathie" Canning was appointed as General Manager. Kathie joined the OCCC in 1985 and, over the past 27 years, has provided invaluable assistance to sales, planning and development for the center’s expansion projects. She will oversee all sales and operations at the center.
 
In August the following individuals were appointed by Mayor Teresa Jacobs:
 
Ms. Jan Addison was appointed Deputy General Manager. Jan is a 24-year veteran of Orange County Government and has served as the OCCC’s Chief Financial Officer since 1992. In her current position, Jan is responsible for all fiscal elements of the OCCC, including budget management and control, financial planning, client contracts, procurement operations, sustainability, parking and box office and information technology. Jan will oversee the following divisions in her new role: Event Operations, Facility Operations, Fiscal & Operations Support and Capital Planning.
 
Ms. Yulita Osuba was also appointed Deputy General Manager. Yulita has over 25 years in the hospitality industry and has been in management at the OCCC for more than eleven years. She is a seasoned sales professional in the industry, having served in senior sales management positions at the Daytona Beach Convention Center and the Tampa Convention Center. Yulita will oversee the following divisions within the OCCC: Sales, Marketing, Event Management & Exhibitor Services, Guest & Community Relations and Security.
 
Mr. Kris Shoemaker has been appointed to the role of OCCC Chief Financial Officer. Kris is a 27-year County veteran, who has spent his entire career at the OCCC. He has served as the assistant business division manager since October of 2000 where he oversees the financial contract management, payroll, and budget and information technology. Kris will lead the business and information technology divisions.
 
Mr. David Ingram has been appointed Event Operations Manager. David began his career at the OCCC in 2003 as an event manager. He has also held the position of Event Set-up Supervisor where he supervised a staff of 80 employees to ensure that client needs were met and exceeded. David will oversee the Event Operations division at the OCCC.
 
The Mayor's final appointment is Mr. Terry Devitt who will now serve as Manager of Facility Operations. Terry has worked at the OCCC for 16 years. He began his career as a technician in event utilities and was quickly promoted to the event management division. Terry will be responsible for facility operations division.
