Paint Your Pointe: Best of Winners
HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR winners of the ‘PAINT YOUR POINTE’ PARKING SPOT contest
To safely
celebrate and preserve the longstanding senior rite of passage, Pointe Orlando
hosted the Paint Your Pointe art contest on the roof of the Pointe
Orlando Parking Garage on Friday, October 2nd.
High school
seniors throughout central Florida submitted original sketches or concepts to
win one of the coveted spots. 42 students were selected by a panel of Pointe
Orlando judges to paint their approved design on a special parking spot on the
roof of the International Drive entertainment center.
Each of the
students received lunch from The Pub or Taverna Opa and swag bags filled with
Regal Movie tickets and goodies from the I-Drive District. Three
winners were chosen for best overall spots. Most Artistic was awarded to Elizaveta of Dr. Phillips High
School; Best
Overall went to Caitlyn from Boone High School; and Best 2020 Message went to Zaphra of Freedom High School.
“The class of
2020 missed out on so many of their high school traditions, said Brian Small,
General Manager for Point Orlando, “we wanted to give the class of ’21 an
outlet for their art and their voice. These kids are resilient and smart and are ready to take on the world.”
The painted
spots are available for visitors to see on the roof of the Pointe Orlando
parking garage located at 9101 International Drive.
